Turkey provides aid to families of Afghan war victims

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency also hosts iftar (fast-breaking meal) for Afghan orphans

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency on Thursday distributed food aid to 300 families who left their houses due the war in northern Kunduz province, according to the agency.

According to a statement by TIKA’s coordinator in Mazar-e-Sharif, the aid efforts and iftar (fast-breaking meal) programs were ongoing in the northern Afghan cities.

In the province of Kunduz, thousands of families have left their homes due to the conflicts in the province for the last two years.

Also, the TIKA held an iftar in Khwaja Abdullah Ansari Orphanage in the Afghan city of Herat, another statement said and added the dinner was attended by more than 300 people.

Separately, the Turkish aid body handed technical equipment to Georgia Department of Veterans Service at a ceremony in Tbilisi.

The agency’s coordinator in Tbilisi Huseyin Sanli said the Republic of Turkey was proud to realize projects in the brother country Georgia.
