Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomes Robert Fico with official ceremony at presidential complex

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recieved Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Ankara on Monday.

Erdogan welcomed Fico at the presidential complex with an official ceremony and later met him for bilateral talks.

Delegation-level meetings will follow talks between the leaders, along with a signing ceremony and a joint press conference. A formal dinner is also scheduled.

Türkiye was one of the first nations to recognize Slovakia's independence after the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993.

Direct Slovak investments in Türkiye reached $32 million between 2002 and mid-2024, while Turkish investments in Slovakia totaled $12 million in the same period.

In February 2024, the Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) was established to further enhance economic collaboration.
