At least nine people were injured late Sunday in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential building in southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese official news agency on Monday.
Israeli fighter jets struck a house in the Seddiqine town of the Tyre District, completely destroying it and injuring nine people, the agency reported.
The strike also caused significant material damage to dozens of surrounding houses, it added.
Israeli warplanes also targeted the outskirts of the towns of Ad-Dahira and Alma Ash Shab, as well as the Al-Labunah area south of Naqoura, the agency noted.
Tensions have escalated along Lebanon's border with Israel since Tel Aviv launched a military offensive against the Gaza Strip following the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas.
The clashes and exchange of fire are said to be the deadliest since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
