Mustafa Tecimen, who worked as 3rd Degree Police Chief at the Ankara Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Headquarters, ran to his workplace after the first bomb dropped on the headquarters. Tecimen had previously worked in Adana, Mersin, Bitlis and Şırnak. He was martyred after the putschists’ second bomb attack on the Special Operations Headquarters.
Tecimen, who was a 51 year old Police Chief from Antakya for many years and trained students in the academy, was the father of three children. His 24 year old son studies law, his 19 year old son studies Machine Engineering and his 12 year old son is in middle school.
“I’m glad he went”
Ahmet Kasım Tecimen, who is the oldest son of Mustafa Tecimen said, “My father was supposed to work at the academy that day. He could have not gone there. I’m glad he did. I’d be sadder if he didn’t. I’m glad he did and died a martyr’s death for his country, Alhamdulillah.
Mehmet Tercimen, brother of the martyr, described his brother as a lovable person with good intentions. He also said that they received the news that his brother was martyred in the 80s during the period when his brother worked in Şırnak, but later found out that he was alive. Mustafa Tecimen was buried in the Gölbaşı Graveyard.
The name of martyr Mustafa Tecimen was given to an Imam Hatip high school in his hometown Hatay, Antakya.
