An operation was launched at the Akıncı 4th Main Jet Base, which was one of the central locations of the coup attempt and where Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar was held hostage. Akar was rescued in an operation and 67 FETÖ members were taken into custody.

The U.S.’s statement far from democracy

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made statements during his visit to Luxembourg. He made a statement which was far from criticizing the coup attempt. He said he hoped that the Constitution would be respected while dealing with those who were behind the coup attempt, adding that Turkey did not request them to extradite Gülen.
