Şevket Uzun chose the police profession for his son and country’s future. Uzun was martyred by soldier members of FETÖ at the Borsa Istanbul Building. Uzun was married for 7 years with a 5 year old son.
The martyr Uzun, who was from Elazığ, was martyred as he was resisting putschists at Borsa Istanbul. 31 year old Mehmet Şevket Uzun studied journalism, but preferred to be a police officer for the future of his son and country.
“No need to worry, trust God”
Nuriye Uzun talked to her husband at midnight for the last time. She told him that she was scared, and her husband said, “No need to worry, trust God. Everything is going to be alright.” Nuriye could not reach her husband after that. She went to the hospital worrying that her husband might be injured. She was told that her husband had died there. Nuriye said that her husband never said anything bad to her. She described her husband as conscientious, merciful, patient, and a good father and husband.
Martyr Mehmet Şevki Uzun’s body was buried in the Bahadırlar Village of the Ağın District after the funeral held in his hometown of Elazığ.
