Martyr Hakan Yorulmaz was born on Monday July 15, 1988. The July 15th coup attempt happened to land on Hakan Yorulmaz’s birthday. The martyr’s dream was to be an inspector.
Martyr Hakan Yorulmaz worked as a clerk in the Gölbaşı Special Operations Department Office. Yorulmaz left his job at 7:00 PM on July 15th and got called back to work. His mother tried to convince him to not go but was unsuccessful.
As Martyr Yorulmaz arrived back at work, department supervisors started sending people to TRT and the General Staff Headquarters.
Yorulmaz called his fiancée Gülhan Aygün after the explosions started and said, “There are no explosions. They are shooting at the building.” After the first explosion, he consoled his fiancée saying “There won’t be any fights anymore. Everything is going to be alright.” However, he died a martyr’s death in the second attack by FETÖ members in Gölbaşı. Aygün talked with her fiancée for the last time at 11:30 PM.
After receiving the news of his martyrdom, Yorulmaz’s family found his body in the Gölbaşı Morgue. His commissioner covered Yorulmaz body to protect him from the explosion. Thanks to the commissioner, Yorulmaz's body was delivered to his family in one piece. The body of the martyr was sent to his hometown Kırıkkale, after his funeral in Ankara and was buried in the Kırıkkale Martyrs’ Graveyard.

Hakan Yorulmaz was born in Kırıkkale on July 15 1988. He was martyred by traitors on his 28th birthday. Yorulmaz was accepted to study in the Business Faculty in Çankırı but preferred the Police School in Samsun. He, then, started working in Siirt after choosing the Special Operations Police job. Yorulmaz was transferred to Ankara after his spell of 4 years in Siirt and worked in Gölbaşı for 3 years. Martyr Hakan Yorulmaz expected martyrdom saying, “Death is inevitable in this profession.”
His fiancée will fulfill his dreams
Gülhan Aygün, whom the martyr was going to marry if the coup attempt had not happened, graduated from political science and cinema-television. Aygün said she gave up on her career plans and will dedicate her life to fulfilling her fiancée's dreams. She said she will do everything she can for Yorulmaz’s brother to have a job and buy a house for his father. Aygün applied to work for the Special Operations Department just as her fiancée had.
The name of Martyr Hakan Yorulmaz was given to a Sports High School in Kırıkkale.
