Around 50 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrike on residential buildings in Jabalia in northern Gaza
The Israeli army killed at least 70 Palestinians in pre-dawn airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
A ministry statement said that scores of people were also injured in the attacks that targeted various areas across the Palestinian enclave.
Medics said Israeli strikes killed around 50 people in the northern town of Jabalia and its refugee camp.
The official news agency Wafa said civil defense rescuers are struggling with limited capabilities to remove victims from under the rubble of the struck buildings in the area.
A medical source told Anadolu that five more people were killed in separate airstrikes targeting a civilian gathering in Gaza City and a home in the southern city of Khan Younis.
In southern Gaza, a man, his wife, and their two daughters were killed in an Israeli strike on their tent in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.
Also in southeastern Khan Younis, an Israeli airstrike hit a home in the Al-Fukhari area, killing 10 people, according to the local Al-Aqsa radio.
The Israeli army has continued a brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing more than 52,900 Palestinians since October 2023, most of them women and children.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
