US Ambassador Huckabee says shelter-in-place order still active, minor damage reported near Tel Aviv branch
The US Embassy in Israel will remain closed due to the ongoing security concerns following Iranian missile strikes, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee announced on Monday.
“Our US Embassy in Israel & Consulate will officially remain closed today as shelter in place still in effect,” Huckabee said on X.
He added that while the "Embassy Branch in Tel Aviv" sustained minor "damage from the concussions of nearby missile" impacts, there were no injuries reported among US personnel.
The latest escalation between Israel and Iran follows Israeli strikes Friday on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities that killed military commanders and scientists, prompting Iran to retaliate with ballistic missiles that caused Israeli casualties and property damage.
