The Police General Directorate announced that 283 suspects were taken into custody and 66 hand-made explosives were seized in nationwide operations targeting the Daesh terrorist organization in the last 11 days.

Of those captured, 96 were Turkish nationals and 187 were foreign nationals. The operations were conducted between Oct. 22 and Nov. 1 across 25 provinces.

During the raids, eight guns, 405 pistol cartridges, three shotguns, 39 shotguns cartridges, one machete and multiple digital documents were seized.

In central Cankiri province, 11 suspects were sent to court while eight others were expected to be deported from the country.

In southern Adana province, 19 Daesh suspects arrested during the operations on Oct. 29 were produced before the court on Thursday.

The 19 suspects are facing up to 70 years behind bars for their involvement in five different terror incidents, including suicide bomb attack on July 1, 2016 in Adana's Sabanci Mosque.

In a separate operation, three Iraqi Daesh suspects were arrested on Thursday in northern Corum province over terror charges and are expected to be deported once the investigation is over.

As part of ongoing nationwide counterterrorism operations, four PKK, one Daesh and one suspected member of far-left terror group DHKP-C were arrested in northwestern Canakkale province.

Also in western Izmir province, 10 PKK suspects were arrested for spreading terrorist propaganda.

Three unlicensed rifles, one blank cartridge gun, 43 gun cartridges, 18 SIM cards, nine CDs, 17 cellular phones with four memory disks and the terror organization's banners were found from the possession of the suspects.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
