A total of 331 terrorists, linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), have been neutralized by security forces involved in the sweep still underway across the southeastern province of Hakkari, the military's headquarters said.
The military have thoroughly scanned the Hawilati lake and Buzul Mountain -- the two regions where the swept has been completed -- to deactivate traps, which were set up by the terrorists, on the province's safe routes to local residents.
Security forces have also found a large amount of basic necessities which have been listed as several cartons of cigarettes, 17 pairs of shoes, six sacks of sugar, four sacks of lentils, two packages of salt, five barrels of flour, four packages of pasta and 80 liters of oil for cooking.
Military have confiscated 60 cartons of smuggled cigarette they have discovered in an operation, conducted in Ormanlı village, located in Çukurca town. An armed man, linked to PKK, has surrendered to the security forces in the battled town of Şemdinli where 53 terrorists have so far been slain during the ongoing sweeping.
