Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said on Thursday that Turkish security forces have killed 200 Daesh terrorists in past two days following a deadly terror attack at a popular tourist destination in Istanbul.
“200 Daesh members have been neutralized in last 48 hours," the Turkish PM said at the 8th Ambassadors Conference in Ankara.
Following the deadly suicide attack in Sultanahmet, where ten tourists were killed and 15 others were injured, Turkey launched wide range operations in Iraq and Syria against the Daesh terrorist group.
“Turkish fighter jets hit 500 Daesh targets in Syria and Iraq," said Davutoğlu underlining Turkey will increase its anti-terror measures to top level.
He said the Sultanahmet terror attack is a part of international terrorism which targeted Paris, London, New York and other cities in the world.
“Terror targeted humanity again," he said and vowed to continue the Turkish fight against all kinds of terrorism.
