A comprehensive new free trade agreement was signed between Turkey and Qatar on Tuesday.
Among the agreements signed under the wide scope free trade deal is the Turkey- Qatar Trade and Economic Chamber Agreement (TEOA).
A meeting was held between Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan and Qatari Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani to ratify the agreement.
Al-Thani, who arrived in Turkey earlier, attended several meetings with economic delegations at the Ministry of Trade.
Early in August, Qatar had pledged $15 billion of direct investments in Turkey in a bid to support its ally amid a sharp fall in the value of the Turkish lira.
Qatar's exports to Turkey in the first seven months of 2018 reached $611 million, while imports amounted to $ 195 million.
Turkish contractors have undertaken 137 projects in Qatar to date, valued at $14.8 billion.
