Martyr Ramazan Konuş went to the General Staff Headquarters after the call of President Erdoğan. He was martyred by a bomb dropped from a helicopter by the putschists. Konuş’s wife and daughter were injured in the same attack.
The veterinarian Konuş, lived in Ankara and came to Ankara to pick up his children on the day of the coup attempt. He, his oldest daughter, and his wife resisted against the coup. He was martyred on the spot. The wounded mother and daughter were treated in the Ankara Education and Research Hospital.
Ramazan Konuş held the hands of his daughter and wife and said, “This is the day to be a martyr. This is a fight for our country. If we don’t die today, when are we going to die?”
His father unable to bear the pain of losing his son
The veterinarian worked at the Bandırma District Food, Agriculture and Livestock Directory. He held the hands of his daughter and wife after he saw low-flying helicopters. Konuş entered martyrdom with the bomb dropped in front of the General Staff Headquarters by putschists. His wife Hacer and his daughter Rümeysa survived the attack.
The 49 year old was buried in his hometown, Niğde, after the funeral. Ramazan Konuş’s father was not able to bear with the pain of losing his son and died 5 days later.
The name of martyr Ramazan Konuş was given to an Imam Hatip middle school in Bandırma, Balıkesir.
