Gülşah Güler, who became a Special Operation Officer after telling her mother, “All of Kırıkhan will hear about your daughter’s name,” was martyred during the attacks of the FETÖ members.
The martyr Gülşah Güler worked as a Special Operations Deputy Inspector in Ankara’s Gölbaşı Special Operations Department. Güler, who worked on the night of the coup attempt, was only 24 years old.
Many relatives of Güler called her during the night of the coup attempt. Gülşah Güler said to the callers, “Don’t keep me busy. They are attacking us. I will call you back.” However, her father was not satisfied and kept calling. He was unable to reach his daughter after midnight. The first call the family received informed them that their daughter was severely injured and they were informed, with the second call that the family received, of their daughter’s martyrdom.
Gülşah Güler was buried in Hatay. The body of Martyr Deputy Inspector Gülşah Güler, who was the second child of a family with four children, was taken from the Kırıkhan State Hospital’s morgue and brought to the family house located on Atatürk Street, Cumhuriyet District. They covered her coffin with a bride’s veil.

Güler wanted to be a Special Operation Officer when she was in the fourth year in the department of art teaching. Güler demonstrated great talent, by becoming the 60th in an exam that thousands of people had taken. Güler, whose courage was admired by all, worked in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa for a temporary time.
The name of Martyr Gülşah Güler who defended her country without any fear was heard by everybody in Turkey and is written in the history of the night of July 15th.
The name of Martyr Gülşah Güler was given to an elementary school in her hometown of Kırıkhan, Hatay and a kindergarten in Sakarya.
