Working as a police chief at Ankara's Special Operations Department, Bülent Yurtseven was the father of two daughters. He previously served in Bitlis, Cizre, Nusaybin and many more. He had previously fought against terrorist organizations. Called in for duty on the night of July 15th, he was heavily wounded after the bombings at the Special Operations Department. Fighting for his life for 16 days, he became a martyr on July 31st.
Originally from Iğdır, police chief Bülent was 39 years old. He studied at the police school in Trabzon, was married for 24 years. He had a 23-year-old daughter named Elif and a 21-year-old daughter named Kübra.
“You will keep your head high if anything happens to me"
Bülent’s wife Hilal Yurtseven, who heard her husband was heavily wounded and brought initially to the Gölbaşı State Hospital, then transferred to the Gayrettepe Hospital, expressed that her husband repeatedly said to her, “You will keep up if anything happens to me.”
The name Martyr Bülent Yurtseven was given to an imam hatip middle school located in Sakarya.
