July 15 Coup Attempt Alper Kaymakçı

Alper Kaymakçı

Initially heavily wounded, then martyred by the air strikes of Gülenist traitors who attacked at the Presidential Complex on the night of the malicious July 15th coup attempt, Alper Kaymakçı was the brother-in-law of twins, Volkan and Erkan Yiğit, one of whom became a martyr and the other a veteran, on the same night.

Working as a foreman at a recycling factory located in Sincan, Ankara, Alper went out to resist the coup attempt, upon President Erdoğan’s call, on the night of July 15th. Setting off toward the Presidential Complex, Kaymakçı called his cousin and said, “If we do not go out, the country falls; if the country falls, so does Islam.”

Fighting putschist soldiers all night long, Alper told his cousin on the phone that they captured two tanks and one of the tanks was opening fire around 03:55. Saying, “My battery is running out, you may not reach me, renounce your rights for me in this,” Kaymakçı could not be contacted once again.

Falling a martyr after bombings of F-16 jets while performing his prayers in the mosque at the complex, Alper’s body was found at the Forensic Medicine, towards the morning. He was buried in his hometown of Ankara on Sunday, July 17th.

Had been expecting a baby, couldn’t hear the good news

Alper was 30 years old, was married for eight years and had the biggest dream of becoming a father. Martyred before being able to learn about his wife’s pregnancy, Alper’s father stated that they will name the baby Alper Salih.
Traveling from Ankara to Istanbul, his wife Darüsselam, was stranded at the bridge gate from 22:00. Seeing tank convoys passing by and a tank blatantly running over a car, she talked about that night as follows, “It was a matter of life and death. I spoke with my husband that night every 15 minutes. He told me that there was a coup and he was going to the complex. He performed a two-rakat prayer and immediately went out. He told the neighbors that he was going to his death. He was so excited that he left the windows open and lights on. I spoke with him at 05:40 for the last time. He asked me for my blessings three times and I was informed about his martyrdom in the morning.”
