Running towards Beştepe with his son, upon President Erdoğan’s call as the July 15th coup attempt took place, Ali İhsan Lezgi was martyred and his only son was heavily wounded.

Ali was 53 years old and worked as a clerk at the Department of the Social Security Institution. He set off toward Beştepe with his son Yasin at midnight. Last contacted at 03:00, Ali reported that they were in front of the complex. As the father and son thought the conflict was over and intended to go back home, they were targeted by the last bombs dropped by putschist traitors at 07:00 in the morning. Ali was martyred on his way to the hospital, his son struggled for his life in intensive care without knowing his father had been martyred. Yasin managed to survive even though some of his internal organs were displaced due to the bomb. He will continue to receive medical treatment for another 2-3 months.
Married and father of four, Martyr Ali İhsan Lezgi was buried in Orhaniye Village of Kazan Municipality on July 17th. Sevgi Lezgi, whose husband was martyred and son was heavily wounded, is battling epilepsy.
