Ahmet Kara had lost his mother in a car accident a couple of months prior. He followed in his mother’s footsteps when he was martyred at Saraçhne on the night of the coup attempt. He was one of the youngest to be martyred during the coup attempt, shot by the FETÖ traitors.
Ahmet was the oldest of 4 siblings and was known as a mild and introvert youngster. He was only 24 years old and was working at a restaurant as a busser. He came from Hatay to İstanbul for work and was living in Aksaray with some friends. On the night of July 15th he went out even before President Erdoğan’s call. He stood up against putschists in front of the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality located in Saraçhane and was martyred by their bullets.
Ahmet was buried in his hometown Yayladağı, Hatay on July 17th.
The name Martyr Ahmet Kara was given to an Anatolian imam hatip high school in Şırnak.
