Twenty-seven civilians have been killed on Tuesday after U.S.-led coalition airstrikes targeted the Daesh-controlled Syrian city of Raqqa, according to activists.
The U.S.-led coalition has carried out 133 airstrikes in the past 48 hours, according to the activist group ‘’Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.’’
The latest airstrike struck an apartment housing 17 civilians who lost their lives in the aftermath of the attack.
According to the same group of activists, all ten members of the Shakran family have been killed in the aftermath of the airstrike.
Close to 450,000 Raqqa residents were forced to flee their homes following the attacks launched by the U.S. and allied PKK/PYD terrorists.
Around 30,000 civilians are trapped due to the ongoing clashes raging in central Raqqa.
U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mostly comprised of PYD terrorists, launched an operation on June 4, to recapture Daesh-held Raqqa.
The PKK/PYD is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.
The PKK has been conducting armed violence in the southeastern part of Turkey since 1984. More than 40,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the three-decade long conflict.
