Military air raids kill 29 terrorists and injure 16 others on the anniversary of the PKK's establishment, Turkish army says
Turkish airstrikes on Mount Qandil areas in northern Iraq neutralized 45 terrorists of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) said on Wednesday.
The military said in a statement that the operation was carried out by Turkish Air Forces on November 27, the anniversary of the terror group's founding.
Twenty-nine terrorists were killed, while 16 others were injured in the operation, the military said after conducting a surveillance and inspection mission on Tuesday.
Mount Qandil is considered to be the so-called headquarters of the terrorist organization, which has been carrying out decades-long armed conflicts killing around 40,000 civilians in southeastern Turkey.
PKK is listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the EU and the U.S.
