Two people were killed and 33 injured in Nov. 24 car bomb attack in parking lot of governor’s office

An affiliate of the PKK terrorist organization claimed responsibility for last week's deadly terror attack in southern Turkey's Adana province, according to the local governor Tuesday.

"We received intelligence that the TAK, a PKK-affiliated terrorist group, has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Adana," Mahmut Demirtas told Anadolu Agency.

"Ultimately, the terror attack was carried out by PKK. PKK and TAK are the same [terrorist] organization," he added.

Two people were killed and 33 others were injured in a car bomb attack in the parking lot of the governor's office on Nov. 24.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year. Since then, more than 300 civilians and nearly 800 security personnel have been martyred. Around 8,000 PKK terrorists have been killed or apprehended.
