Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu arrived in Islamabad Thursday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Cavusoglu is the first Turkish official to visit Pakistan since that country’s new government was formed.
He will also meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two sides will discuss the need to deepen ties, especially for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
