Chinese president says economic globalization continues to be trend despite challenges, China Daily reported.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said Friday that an attempt to block economic cooperation and break global interdependence is nothing but "backpedaling," according to a media report.
Xi made the remarks in a speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit 2024, state-run Xinhua News reported.
He emphasized that economic globalization continues to be a prevailing trend despite various challenges.
Xi arrived Thursday in Peru for a state visit and to attend the summit at the invitation of President Dina Boluarte.
He is scheduled to meet outgoing US President Joe Biden and other leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, on the sidelines of the summit.
The Chinese leader will visit Brazil next week where he will attend a G20 summit in Rio.
