Russia has introduced temporary restrictions on the export of enriched uranium to the US, according to a decree published on the government website on Friday.
"The restrictions apply to the export of enriched uranium to the US or under foreign trade agreements involving entities registered in US jurisdictions" the explanatory note accompanying the decree said.
Exceptions will be made for deliveries authorized by one-time licenses issued by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, it added.
This measure is in response to US restrictions on import of Russian uranium products from 2024 to 2027, which will escalate to a full ban in 2028.
President Vladimir Putin directed an assessment of limiting the export of strategic raw materials in September.
