Eight Daesh, 12 PKK/PYD terrorists killed in Euphrates Shield operation, Turkish military says
The Turkish military stated that as many as 8 Daesh and 12 Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)-affiliated Democratic Union Party (PYD) terrorists were killed, as a part of the Turkish military's effort in the Euphrates Shield operation that is conducted as a support to Free Syrian Army (FSA) soldiers against terrorists.
The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and air forces of the U.S.- led anti-Daesh coalition initiated the operation named the "Euphrates Shield" against the terror group on August 24, as a part of Turkey's legitimate self-defense.
Since the beginning of the operation, around 1700 square kilometers have been cleaned from the terrorist elements.
