
Italian defense minister hosting talks at Italian Air Force Headquarters with attendance of British, French, Polish, German counterparts
The defense ministers of the European Group of Five (E5) countries, comprising the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Poland, met in Rome on Friday to discuss the continent's security.
The meeting among German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, France's Sebastien Lecornu, Poland's Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, British Defense Secretary John Healey, and Italian Guido Crosetto began at the Italian Air Force Headquarters.
Along with E5 countries, representatives from other EU member states and NATO also participated in the discussions.
The Italian Defense Ministry said on X that Crosetto welcomed counterparts at the 4th session of the format.
Poland's Defense Ministry said: "The 16 May meeting will focus on key strategic issues, current security challenges & European defense."
