Turkey’s ruling AK Party calls on political parties to ‘respect election results’

Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party called on all political parties to respect the results of Sunday’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking to reporters in Istanbul, AK Party Spokesman Mahir Ünal said the security of not only AK Party votes but votes for all political parties are “our honor.”

“All votes cast in Sunday's elections are under AK Party’s guarantee,” said Ünal.

Initial results from Turkey’s presidential elections show incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with a strong lead.
