The Turkish Consulate in Mosul continues its humanitarian efforts throughout the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to support needy families living in various parts of the city of Mosul. These efforts, particularly directed at families in difficult living conditions, including both Moslawi and Turkmen families, are being carried out with great dedication.

The Yeni Şafak team accompanied the Consul during his field visits as part of these humanitarian initiatives. The Consul distributed hot soup to needy families at a symbolic location dating back to the Ottoman era, located behind Nebi Jirjis Mosque in the historical district of Old Mosul. This tradition, which reinforced social solidarity during the Ottoman era, continues to be upheld in the same place today, emphasizing the importance of the culture of charity.

Additionally, as part of the aid activities, 100 food boxes were distributed to needy Moslawi and Turkmen families outside the Old Mosul area. This initiative aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by families, particularly during Ramadan, and improve their living conditions. Such activities are regularly carried out, especially during the holy month, with the goal of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the Turkish and Iraqi peoples.

In an exclusive statement, the Turkish Consul General in Mosul, Serhad Varli, emphasized that these efforts stem from the brotherly relations between the two countries and reflect Türkiye's vision of supporting social stability, enhancing security, and contributing to development in Mosul and its surroundings.

In recent times, Türkiye's support for Mosul has not been limited to humanitarian aid activities but also includes environmental improvement projects. To enhance the city's environmental conditions, more than 250,000 trees have been donated as part of a large-scale afforestation initiative.
