Imran Abbas ignited an Instagram frenzy after sharing a photo in which he posed for cameras while holding the Kayi flag associated with the Turkish blockbuster Dirilis Ertugrul

Renowned Pakistani dreamboat Imran Abbas paid a visit to the set of globally acclaimed Turkish historical smash hit TV series" Resurrection: Ertugrul" and "Kurulus: Osman" in Istanbul’s Beykoz district.

The 38-year-old Pakistani actor ignited an Instagram frenzy after sharing a photo in which he posed for the cameras while holding the Kayi flag associated with the Turkish blockbuster Dirilis Ertugrul (Resurrection Ertugrul).

Turkish star Celal Al, best known for playing the character of Abdurrahman Alp in the hit series, has also accompanied Abbas on the trip.

“Thank you @celalall and the producer of KURULUS OSMAN @ozcan_ayma ozcan_ayma for presenting me this handmade flag and showing me around the sets and production of Ertugrul Ghazi and Kurulus Osman in Turkey.” Abbas said in his caption.

The duo, Celal Ay and Imran Abbas, posted many pictures and videos on Instagram, giving fans an insight into their tour around the Turkish metropolitan city of Istanbul.

While traveling around the city in a car, they sang the famous Pakistani patriotic song “Dil Dil Pakistan” together.

Often described as the Turkish Game of Thrones, the series is woven around 13th century Anatolia and tells the story prior to the establishment of the Ottoman Empire. It illustrates the struggle of Ertugrul Gazi, father of the empire's founder.

The series illustrates the struggle of Ertuğrul and his warriors against a plethora of adversaries from the Knights Templar to Mongol invaders.

Ertugrul Gazi surged to fame in Pakistan when Prime Minister Imran Khan endorsed the series and said watching it would promote "Islamic history and ethics" among the country's youth.

Its popularity further increased since the national broadcaster PTV began airing Urdu-dubbed episodes of the show in April.

The series has also inspired Pakistan to erect statues of Ertugrul Ghazi in a residential area of Lahore.
