In the wake of the trilateral summit of the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey and Russia, Iranian foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif stated Tuesday that they will work together on the Syrian crisis.
Turkey, Iran and Russia have initiated a new process to find an inclusive and stable political solution in Syria, he said following the gathering.
Zarif added that he hopes parties will comply with the liabilities of the ceasefire in Syria.
The ceasefire deal was announced on Dec. 13 after Turkey's intense diplomatic talks with Russia and Iran. Since then, opposition fighters and civilians in East Aleppo have been evacuated as part of the agreement, even though the process was halted a couple of times due to Iran-backed Shi'ite terrorists' assaults and harassment on evacuation convoys.
Around 37,500 Aleppan civilians and dissidents in total were relocated in Idlib.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Dec. 15 that they will seek a lasting country-wide ceasefire and solution for the political and humanitarian crisis in Syria after the evacuations in Aleppo are completed. To do so, the countries scheduled a trilateral meeting on Dec. 27.
However, given the fragility of the current political landscape in Syria, foreign ministers from the three countries convened today, while the evacuations gained momentum following telephone conversations between Erdoğan and Putin.
