The PKK-Shabiha alliance is seeking out new terror corridors as Operation Olive Branch severs their routes

Aid sent to the terrorist organization was completely stopped once the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) struck the Shabiha-backed PKK convoys and Iran-backed terrorists going to Syria’s Afrin, where Turkey is currently conduction Operation Olive Branch. The terrorist, arms and ammunition shipments sent along the Aleppo line have been halted, and the Shabiha and Iran-backed terrorist alliance has chosen the Nubbul-Basuta corridor as an alternative route to the Nubbul-Ziyara line that was used before the TAF’s operation.

Operation Olive Branch was initiated on Jan. 20 in Afrin to establish security and stability, eliminate PKK/KCK/PYD-YPG and Daesh terrorists, and save locals from their oppression and cruelty.

TAF struck new route

The terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and its allies aim to utilize the new road of the Basuta village to use the Jebel-I Ahlam Mountain to reach Afrin. On February 24, the convoys aiming to enter the area using vehicles were monitored by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The terrorists who were trying to progress in the Buc el Kas and Burat settlements as well as Ahlam Mountain were hit.

Completely destroyed

A terror convoy going from Aleppo to Afrin was struck on the Ziyara-Der Jimeyl line. In the operation which neutralized over 80 terrorists, the alternative route was completely destroyed. Sources from the field claim that subsidiary roads destroyed by Turkish planes and artillery batteries positioned in the Euphrates Shield region were trying to be fixed by the PKK by using tractors and work machines.

Afrin has been a major hideout for the PYD/PKK since July 2012, when the Assad regime in Syria left the city to the terror group without putting up a fight.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States. The PKK has been conducting armed violence in the southeastern part of Turkey since 1984. More than 40,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the three-decade long conflict.

Old and new routes

After the destruction of three separate convoys flying Syrian regime flags that were trying to enter the center of Tel Rıfaat, the terror route that passes through Nubbul-Ziyara-Der Jimeyl-Culbul-Meryemiyn-Atma villages was abandoned.

The PKK-Shabiha alliance, which is trying to use mountainous paths as alternative routes, is trying to reach Afrin using the Nubbul-Burch al Kas-Burat-Jebel Ahlem-Basuta-Karzahel-Ayn Dara-Girende corridor.
