Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed al Khalifa was received by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul on Saturday.
The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu also participated in the meeting at the Huber Presidential Palace amid a continuing diplomatic row between Qatar and other Gulf countries.
Minister Al Khalifa is expected to discuss the Gulf crisis as well as regional developments.
Erdoğan called for a solution of the Qatar crisis, and said Ankara would not leave Doha isolated. The Turkish president also offered to assist in mediations to end the diplomatic spat.
Earlier this week, a tense diplomatic row erupted between Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan and Egypt on one side and Qatar on the other. Several other nations also downgraded their diplomatic relations with Qatar.
