Syrian school children in southern Turkey have written letters to the U.N. urging the intergovernmental organization to stop the attacks by Russia and Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime on the civilians.
"We are very sorry for the airstrikes and we want the attacks to be ended. Don't let Russia and Assad kill people. Please stop the war. I haven't seen my granddad and grandma for three-and-a-half years," 9-year-old Siyam İsmail wrote in his letter.
"The children are facing difficulties. We want to make ourselves heard by the U.N.," 10-year- old Mohamed Wezir said in his letter.
The children are trying to send their letters to the U.N. through the school administration.
The Syrian war has killed more than 250,000 people and displaced half of the population to date.
More than 11 million others were forced from their homes by the Assad regime and terror groups.
The hardest-hit victims of the war are children. In the first eight months of 2015 alone, 2,209 children were killed in Syria, according to U.K.-based Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR).
At least 10,000 children have been killed in more than four years during the conflict.
