Pentagon office reports hundreds of new UFO cases

A Pentagon office said on Thursday that it has received hundreds of UFO reports over the past year.

The report by Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) covers unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) reports from last May to the start of this June.

"The office received 757 UAP reports during this period; 485 of these reports featured UAP incidents that occurred during the reporting period,” it said.

The 272 other reports came from incidents that took place in 2021 and 2022 but were not reported to the office until later and so were not in its previous reports.

It said the office resolved 118 cases during the reporting period, which turned out to be ordinary objects such as various types of balloons, birds, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

"Reports of unidentified anomalous phenomenon, particularly near national security sites, must be treated seriously and investigated with scientific rigor by the US government," said Jon Kosloski, the office's director.

The report noted that many cases remain unresolved, with continued analysis underway.

"It is important to underscore that, to date, AARO has discovered no evidence of extraterrestrial beings, activity, or technology," said the report.

Since its inception, the office has reviewed over 1,650 cases.

The report came a day after a hearing at a US House subcommittee where some former government officials said UFOs are real and Americans must know the truth.

During the hearing, former Defense Department official Luis Elizondo claimed that a select group within the government is concealing "the fact that we are not alone in the cosmos."
