Iraqi forces continue to advance in Kirkuk
Iraqi security forces ensured control in many strategic regions after the Peshmerga forces withdrew from Iraq's Kirkuk. The Iraqi army and federal police forces were stationed at the positions abandoned by the Peshmerga and controlled the main streets in armored vehicles.

Some of Kirkuk’s Kurdish residents, who raged against the withdrawal of Peshmerga forces, were seen standing guard on the streets holding weapons, and did not allow Peshmerga tanks to return to Sulaymaniyah.
