Head of Senate's socio-cultural development committee holds talks with Turkish ambassador

A Kazakh senator said Thursday that mutual interests in education between his country and Türkiye will contribute to strengthening spiritual ties between the two countries.

“There is no doubt that mutual interest in the study of history and language is of great importance, which will contribute to strengthening the spiritual ties between the two peoples,” Nurtore Zhusip, chairman of the Senate Committee on Socio-Cultural Development, was quoted during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Astana Mustafa Kapucu.

A statement by the Senate, the upper house of parliament, cited Zhusip saying that Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan's important partners in areas of trade, economy, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

Expressing that Kazakh-Turkish ties have been developing rapidly since diplomatic relations were established in 1992, Zhusip said it is evidenced by the signing of important agreements.

“Our countries continue to cooperate on student exchanges, organizing cultural events and scientific research,” said Zhusip, adding that mutual interest in the study of history and language will also strengthen the positions of both countries in the international arena, as well as regional development as a whole.
