Turkish chief of staff Akar visits SE Turkish city

Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar is paying a visit to the southeastern Turkish province of Şırnak for making examinations of the troops which are fighting against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists.

Akar is accompanied by force commanders.

Turkey has been fighting against the PKK and its affiliated groups both across the country and abroad, since the PKK broke the cease fire in July 2015.

Since that date, more than 8,000 PKK terrorists were killed.
