Turkish howitzers fire five artillery rounds in its support to the Free Syrian Army
The Turkish army early on Sunday fired artillery rounds across the border to show its support to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) located in Idlib, according to military sources.
The Idlib operation launched to establish a de-escalation zone in Syria is ongoing.
Military sources said four or five shots of artillery were fired to support the FSA.
The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), preparing for the Idlib operation, exchanged fire with Tahrir al-Sham after the terrorist group opened fire on heavy equipment belonging to Turkey in the Kafr Lusin village, located on the border. The Turkish army responded by briefly firing artillery to the region.
The TAF, with the Idlib operation, aims to observe the ceasefire between the Syrian regime and opposition within the context of the agreement made in Astana.
Turkish troops will be deployed in the west of Idlib, while Russia is backing the operation from the east. Turkey will operate at 14 different points for six months.
