Mardin governorate says PYD/PKK terrorist surrenders to Turkey’s security units at Syria border

A PKK terrorist surrendered to Turkish security forces in southeastern Mardin province along the Syrian border, an official statement said on Thursday.

In the statement, the Mardin Governorate said the PYD/PKK terrorist surrendered to security forces on June 27 in border district of Nusaybin.

Local gendarmerie forces also announced on Thursday that they will continue their counter-terrorism operation in the region to ensure the safety of the locals.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey as well as the U.S. and EU. In its more than three-decade terror campaign against Turkey, more than 40,000 people have been killed.
