5 more trucks filled with aid materials sent to victims
Five additional trucks filled with aid materials left Friday from Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina to quake-hit Türkiye.
The truck carrying in-kind aid collected by citizens and non-governmental organizations operating in Serbia for the earthquake victims in Türkiye was sent from Belgrade.
Meanwhile, four more aid trucks from Bosnia and Herzegovina were sent.
The EMMAUS International Solidarity Forum said eight trucks were previously sent and worked with great devotion to deliver aid as soon as possible.
In addition, a bazaar was held in historical Bascarsija in the capital, Sarajevo, with the support of the Turkish Commercial Counselor to collect aid.
The money collected will be deposited into AFAD's bank account.
Türkiye issued a level 4 alert, calling for international aid.
More than 249,000 search and rescue personnel are currently working in the field, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
More than 9,000 international search and rescue teams have participated in post-quake operations.
Around 100 countries have offered assistance, with many having sent rescue teams.
At least 44,218 people have been killed and more than 105,000 injured by the two strong earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye on Feb. 6, according to officials.
The 7.7- and 7.6-magnitude quakes, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, affected more than 13 million people across 11 provinces, including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Sanliurfa and Elazig.
Several countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, also felt the strong tremors that struck Türkiye in less than 10 hours.
