Arrest warrants have been issued for suspects involved in the Reina nightclub terror attack in Istanbul that claimed the lives of at least 39 victims
Arrest warrants were issued on Friday for 11 suspects in connection with the terrorist attack at the upscale Reina nightclub in Istanbul on New Year's Eve.
The suspects are charged with “an attempt to disrupt the constitutional order” and “being a member of an armed terrorist organization”.
Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack that killed at least 39 people, including a police officer. The gunman, Abdulkadir Masharipov, opened fire on New Year's Eve revelers at the nightclub, wounding 69 other people.
Security forces analyzed over 100,000 hours of footage in attempts to capture the gunman responsible for the attack.
This lead to the discovery of multiple terror cells. Operations targeting the remaining terror cells are underway.
