Terror supporters use Ahed al-Tamimi's image for smear campaign against Turkey's anti-terror operation in Syria

Supporters of YPG/PKK terrorists have posted a photo of Palestinian resistance icon Ahed al-Tamimi with a factually incorrect caption, as part of their smear campaign on social media against Turkey's ongoing operation in northern Syria.

The fake image shows the teenaged girl challenging a soldier who has a Turkish flag superimposed on his uniform. The caption says the photo was taken during Operation Peace Spring which started last week in Syria.

The actual image from 2012 became a rallying cry for the Palestinian resistance movement -- showing the raw defiance of a young girl in the face of an armed Israeli soldier.

Tamimi was arrested in 2017 for hitting an Israeli soldier who she thought had earlier shot her younger cousin with a rubber bullet.

Since the beginning of Turkey's anti-terror operation, YPG/PKK have stepped up social media smear campaigns, posting fake photographs, videos and information.

Turkey on Oct. 9 launched Operation Peace Spring to eliminate terrorists from northern Syria in order to secure Turkey’s borders, aid in the safe return of Syrian refugees, and ensure Syria’s territorial integrity.

Ankara wants to clear east of the Euphrates River of the terrorist PKK and its Syrian offshoot, the YPG.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the European Union -- has been responsible for deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
