The Gulf crisis was triggered by cutoff of ties between Qatar and four Arab states
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Qatar on Tuesday as part of efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis.
He is expected to hold talks with Qatari officials on the crisis triggered by the cutoff of ties between Qatar and four Arab countries.
Tillerson's visit to Qatar is the second leg of a Gulf tour, which he started Sunday by visiting Kuwait, which has been mediating to resolve the crisis. He is also scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia.
Last month, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed relations with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism.
They also imposed a land, sea, and air blockade on Qatar.
The four states have presented a list of demands for Qatar, including the closure of the pan-Arab Al Jazeera television, or face further sanctions.
Qatar, for its part, denies the accusations, saying the blockade was in violation of international law.
