Iraq said early Saturday that two ISIS/Daesh terrorists were killed in the village of Tarfavi near the Himrin mountains in Kirkuk.
In a separate statement, Hashd al-Shaabi said artilleries struck Daesh affiliates in Salahadin province, leading to losses for the terror group.
Daesh terrorists gained full control in Mosul, Salahadin and Anbar provinces and seized territories in Diyala and Kirkuk provinces in 2014. But Iraqi security forces managed to regain control in subsequent years.
Then-Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced in 2017 victory against the terror group.
Although it has been more than two-and-a-half years since the terror group was removed from the region, it still conducts attacks on rural areas in provinces it once controlled.
