4 masked men vandalized building of Azerbaijan-Turkish Culture Association, says head of association
Four masked men attacked the building of Azerbaijan-Turkish Culture Association in The Hague city of Netherlands in the wee hours of Saturday.
Locals at a nearby cafe witnessed the incident, which took place at around 02.30 a.m. local time (0130GMT), and they ran to the association’s building but the attackers fled the site, Ilhan Askin, the head of the association, told Anadolu Agency.
Askin said that the footage of security cameras installed at the building and the neighboring cafe showed four people were trying to tear down the windows using stones.
He asserted that such incidents will not disturb the peace of Turkish people in the Netherlands and added: "We will continue to serve the way we always do."
Local police authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
The pro-PYD/PKK supporters in European countries, primarily in Germany, have attacked a total of six mosques during the last week.
In Germany, the PKK has been banned since 1993, but it is still active, with nearly 14,000 followers among the country's Kurdish immigrant population.
Supporters of the PYD/PKK have organized demonstrations in various German cities to protest Turkey’s ongoing military Operation Olive Branch against the terrorist group in northwest Syria.
