Turkish military sources have said that Turkey is fighting against Daesh in al-Bab district of Syria by applying the same strategy against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Turkish town of Nusaybin, Cizre and Sur towns during Turkey's fight against the separatist terror organization.
The soldiers are using tanks, artillery and “tosun" or “young bulls", an artillery, the same way they were utilized in the operations in southeastern Turkey against the PKK.
On the 126th day of the operation, as many as 13 Daesh terrorists were killed, while two FSA soldiers were martyred in al-Bab.
Up to now, as many as 40 Turkish soldiers have been martyred since the beginning of the Euphrates Shield operation that was initiated to sweep the terrorists in northern Syria. On the same day, 158 terrorist targets were destroyed.
The operation continues in al-Bab as Turkish soldiers entered the city center with Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters last week.
Since last week, more Turkish brigades from different provinces have been sent to al-Bab as reinforcement.
With the recent arrivals, around a thousand Turkish soldiers, and more Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters arrived in al-Bab from Aleppo.
The number of the additional FSA fighters is expected to reach 2000 with the arrivals.
The Euphrates Shield operation was launched between the Turkish Armed Forces and the Free Syrian Army, with the aim to sweep Daesh from Syria, and has been running for 126 days.
Also, a 2,100-square-kilometer area has been cleared of terrorists so far.
The PKK, which is designated a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, had resumed its attacks in southeastern Turkey last summer after breaking a two-year-long ceasefire deal.
Turkey has been fighting against some other terrorist groups, such as the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) and Daesh across the country and abroad along with the PKK terrorist organization, which has been launching attacks for more than 30 years.
