Turkish, Russian and Iranian representatives will meet in Tehran, Iran’s capital, to discuss the Syria crisis on August 8-9.
Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, on Sunday at the 50th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' meeting, discussed the meetings to be held among the three countries before the Astana negotiations.
Making a statement on the meeting, Çavuşoğlu said that they had discussed the upcoming Astana meeting and the solution for the Syria crisis.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who was in Manila to attend the ASEAN session, pointed out that military officials from Iran, Russia and Turkey will discuss Syria in Tehran on Aug. 8-9.
The Russian Embassy in Iran previously said this session would be organized in Tehran, but did not specify any date.
