Turkish military seizes weapons of terrorists trying to sneak into military bases
Terrorists in northern Iraq fled leaving their weapons behind after the Turkish army conducted anti-terrorism operations, a security source said on Sunday.
The terrorists who were trying to sneak into Turkish military bases in northern Iraq left their weapons and material behind after the military conducted operations in the region, said the source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
During raids two Kalashnikovs, seven full magazines, two suicide vests, three hand grenades and a camera battery were seized.
Turkish military in this region mainly targets PKK terrorists.In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people.
