US-based multinational coffeehouse chain Starbucks Corporation announced on Tuesday that it has suspended all business activity in Russia, including all product shipments.
"We continue to watch the tragic events unfold and, today, we have decided to suspend all business activity in Russia, including shipment of all Starbucks products," President and CEO Kevin Johnson said in a statement, referring to Moscow's war on Ukraine.
"Our licensed partner has agreed to immediately pause store operations and will provide support to the nearly 2,000 partners in Russia who depend on Starbucks for their livelihood," he added.
Due to Russia's war on Ukraine, major companies from various sectors around the world have announced the suspension of their operations and withdrawal from the Russian market since Feb. 24.
